I've been asked to play säckpipa at a wedding in September. The tune(s) I will be playing will probably be in C.
I have a set of Börs Anders Öhman pipes with a D/G chanter, bought lightly used from a woman in Örebro.
So I need a C/F chanter that fits the 17mm (?) hole in the stock. At this point I need a reed also, still frustrated with my attempts at reedmaking!
I could probably get one from Börs Anders Öhman somehow, but was hoping someone had a better idea.
Tim

C/F chanters are very rare. Actually, I have never seen or heard one, though I know that Alban Faust makes them. I don't know if Börs Anders Öhman does, though.

However, it is possible to play in C and F on a D/G chanter. The fingering is awkward at first, but you get used to it. The tune "Bröllopsmarsch efter Nedergårds Lars" on my site (http://user.it.uu.se/~crwth/bagpipes/swedish/sounds/bjornsk2.mp3) is played that way (in F).

I played a duet in C or F last summer with church organ, on my D/G-chanter. I played with my drones plugged, but used the organ for drone-effect in the beginning of the arrangement. Was really nice!

As I said, I have never seen one, but I assume it is the same scale as other chanters, only transposed (i.e. two semi-tones below D/G chanter, or a major third below an E/A chanter).
