I have a set of Erikson A/E pipes in my posession for reeding.. Does anyone know why he tapers or open's up his reed seats so much.. He must be using a different design for his reeds than most... When I put one of my regular reeds in his chanter it goes about 1/3 of the way in, way too far... I'll have to put hemp on the reed and see what that does...or should I just make a longer reed with a tongue that's higher up on the reed " you know what I mean"... Seth |

Maybe it has less to do with his reeds and more to do with the type of chuck that he has on his lathe. Do you know when that set was built approximately? His shop burnt down last summer, he could have continued making pipes on a temporary lathe while waiting to get back to full capacity again. _________________ Aaron |
