Welcome to the NSAA forum.

Norden Folk's spelmanslag (playing group) hope to help the builders/players/want to be players in The Americas to kick-start the playing of this great instrument. We're currently exploring the possibility of having some pipe kits made after the existing designs. We would sell them for cost to anyone wishing to add frustration, but great pleasure, to their lives.

We would also hope to choose a weekend when anyone willing, could come to the Upper Midwest (Wisconsin or Minnesota) for a playing workshop. This could also include assembling your kit, getting pointers from seasoned players on reeds, tuning and technique.

Olle Gallmo, from Sweden, has VOLUNTEERED to moderate the sackpipa category for Norden Folk. I expect he will continue posting from day to day, helping us as he has his friends around the world, realize the pleasure of making a beautiful sound together with the Nordic sackpipa.

The forming of NSAA and the piping kits are great ideas!

Over the years I have had contact with a great number of people from your continent, interested in Swedish pipes. Some play, some build, some would like to learn, some prefer to watch from a safe distance. In any case, all should benefit from this.
