Hello to you all! I've just joined your forum and would like to introduce myself:
My name: Tomaž Furlan
Where I am: Slovenia, Europe
My main instrument: Diatonic button accordion
Other instruments I play: having some fun with the "mih" bagpipe, "surle" and experimenting (making, playing) with various primitive folk aerophones. Hoping to add a real home-made säckpipa to this family.
Other interests: Computer and electronic stuff and things (software engineer by profession). Folk music, dances, culture and traditions. And many other things.
I've got fascinated by "the thing" when I saw a short youtube video about making an improvised "säckpipa" from cheap plastic parts. When I realized the beauty and simplicity of creating a sound, I was sold. |

Hi all. Here we go, hopefully I don't mess up the format!
Name: John Schucker
Location: Madison Wisconsin
Main Instrument: khomus, A.K.A. Jew's harp, mungiga, hoho, kubing, dan moi, Etc. Lots of them from all over the world.
Secondary instruments: Lots, I collect but I'm actually tackling playing all of them. Flutes (ocarina, fujara, quena, kaval), strings (kamale ngoni, reconstructed Anglo-Saxon lyre, kantele, doshpuluur, mountain dulcimer, t'nah), bagpipes (currently Swedish and practice chanter for great highland pipes), drums (ashiko, frame drums, udu), random things (harmonica, xaphoon, melodica, karigne, didgeridoo). Probably more but that should give you the idea. |
