Hello NSAA friends,
I'm afraid I have some bad news. Jerry Revelle, my co-founder of NSAA and administrator of this forum, has passed away in cancer.
I met Jerry the first time here in Uppsala Sweden, 13-14 years ago or so, I don't remember exactly which year. He just called me one day and wanted to meet over a coffee talking about Swedish bagpiping history. We had a *lot* of coffee that afternoon.
Later, in 2006 we decided to form the NSAA and to open this forum to bring säckpipa pipers in America together. In 2011 Jerry took the initiative to arrange säckpipa workshops in Minneapolis and invited me over as a teacher. I had a great time with him and those of you who I met there that week, and some very nice evenings with Jerry in his big red house on the Wisconsin countryside.
I'll miss you Jerry, rest in peace.

Wow...Rest in peace Jerry. I didn't know him long but I enjoyed the time I spent with him. _________________ A bagpipe is only too loud when it's out of tune |

This is horrible news. Jerry was a great guy who always had time to talk to a friend. We'll all miss him for sure.
Swedish piping here in the U.S. has lost one of its most vocal champions. _________________ Aaron |
