I just added more tunes (written music) to my Swedish bagpipe site. It is a collection of 25 tunes after Petter Dufva (1756-1836) which I transposed and, in some cases, edited slightly to fit the pipes. Petter Dufva was a fiddler but many of his tunes fit well on the bagpipes as they are.
Here is a direct link to the PDF with the written music.
The collection is commented in Swedish only, but the written music is of course language independent. Some of the tunes require the more advanced playing techniques, described in the section on how to play on my Swedish bagpipe site. _________________ Info on Swedish bagpipes at http://olle.gallmo.se/sackpipa

Yes, I like them too. They are quite different from the usual (to a piper) repertoire form Western Dalarna. Closer to the Baroque style of music. The menuets in particular, but also the polskas. They sound more upper class and less rural, somehow. To my Swedish ears, that is. Your mileage may vary. _________________ Info on Swedish bagpipes at http://olle.gallmo.se/sackpipa

Are their any audio samples of any of these tunes. I'll do a search too. I've always had trouble with timing, so I learn a new tune easier if I can hear it played first. Seth |

Fantastic, thank you. It's always nice to have new tunes that fit the scale. Seth |

To be honest I rarely use the drone tone holes, but going down to D on my A-pipe on the Polska 144 is fun and addictive, and the Baroque style that Olle mentioned really shines through. There is also a lot of wiggle room to "flesh out" further the skeleton of the tune. Again, thanks! |
