Hello,
I hope this is not for americans only, because it´s lonely for a player in Germany too.
I play a D pipe made by Alban, very beautiful and I love to play. I started with "Visa from Malung" and "Brudmarsch fran Äppelbo" and I am loking for tunes which fit to my instrument. I found a pdf file with tune for beginners, which I may transpose but it might be easier to find other tunes.

Klaus, if you mean that you have a chanter with D at the top, that is refered to as a G chanter (or D/G), since most tunes you play will be in G (including the two tunes you mention, if played on such a chanter).

The beginners' tunes you found, if they were from my site, are written in A since that is the most common key for Swedish pipes. However, transposing on bagpipes is not as difficult as it might be on other instruments, if you just follow one rule: Don't think of it as transposing (then it becomes difficult) - instead imagine that you *are* playing a conventional E/A chanter! You will soon be able to transpose on the fly, without thinking, if you do like that.

Yes, I will do so. On my D/G it is easy to play church hyms and christmas carrols in F. I like the Bb and the possibility to switch between F and F# in one song. There is a beautiful danish tune called "Femspring", where I can do that. And another one, might be swedish called "Spell Göran Walzer"

Meanwhile I transposed one tune. Look here if you like. fotos.web.de/klaus-guhl/Swedish_Tunes
